BEANIE BABIES PROJECT
Earlier this year I donated 100 Beanie Babies (the small ones, the next size up from the Teenie Beanie Babies) to the Davidson County Sheriff's Department. The deputies keep them in the trunk of their patrol cars and give them on site to children that have to be taken from their homes.
It is a small gesture, but a comforting one that the kids can hold on to and keep for their own at a very stressful time.
My contact at the Sheriff's department called me today and said that it went over so well that they would like to get more. I would like to establish some kind of program to which people could donate these Beanie Babies to the Davidson County Sheriff's Department.
I don't want to collect actual dollars, but if any of you know of anyone who might have some Beanie Babies to donate or would be willing to buy some to donate, please have them contact me at aven@comcast.net .
I am trying to get contact information for Ty, Inc. that makes Beanie Babies to see if they could participate. The beanie animals wouldn't have to be Beanie Babies brand. The small size is what is so convenient.
