Is Starbucks Good For Christianity? Over the past decade, there has been a growing phenomenon in the Christian community to add eternal significance to what is commonly known as the nine-to-five pursuit. Small-business owners and service providers are capitalizing on the growth of evangelical Christians through out the U.S. by way of various branding techniques.

Naturally, most Christians prefer to do business with other Christians and take peace of mind knowing their plumber frees clogged drains for Christ. However, some Christians fear these new trends are nothing more than a strategy to milk every dollar out of the religious market. Perfect example, Starbucks.

Starbucks made a move this fall that dropped jaws all over the nation. Starbucks announced they would be featuring a quotation on their cups this spring from Rick Warren, the best-selling author and pastor, which includes the line, "You were made by God and for God, and until you understand that, life will never make sense."

I guess Starbucks decided this segment was too profitable to ignore. But, should it then follow since religion is good for Starbucks, that Starbucks is good for religion? Being associated with a $5 soy mocha latte may help spread the good word, but at what cost to the image of the Christian faith?
